As with many things learning-related, our Faith Formation efforts are undergoing fundamental changes.  We thank you for bearing with us as we prayerfully formulate our plans going forward.  

YOUTH FAITH FORMATION 

Parents are the primary educators and witnesses of the faith for their families. Parents/Sponsors will soon have Faith Formation sessions available to enable them to specifically prepare their children for the reception of these sacraments of initiation.  

Regular family Sunday Mass attendance is an essential part of this preparation.

Because our ultimate goal is to form lifelong intentional disciples of Christ, faith formation is taken very seriously in our Parish. Ours is not to simply check the sacrament boxes by going through the motions of education, but to instill in each child a deep understanding of the great love that Christ has for us as God's children, and His commandment to love God and one another.  This means knowing that the Church is a community where we share His love by actively participating in the life of the church, even beyond Sunday Mass obligation; even beyond the walls of the church; even into his or her adult life.  We want to raise disciples who are willing to follow Christ by doing more than the minimum throughout their life. 

To supplement your Sunday Mass experience, please feel free to use the FAMILY RESOURCES links for family worship, which include prayer and education in an age-appropriate way.  The resources will follow the upcoming weekly Mass readings, and updates will be posted weekly.

First Communion
Please note that any child who wishes to make their First Communion is expected to attend Faith Formation sessions. This will be immediate preparation for the reception of the sacrament and will require parents and child to attend.

Confirmation
As with First Communion, those children who wish to receive the sacrament of Confirmation must attend Faith Formation sessions. Preparation will require parent and/or sponsor participation in some of the sessions.
